Someone Somewhere obtained the official Climate Neutral certification , becoming the first Mexican manufacturing company to achieve this international distinction. The company, which is also B-Corp Certified, has been recognized numerous times for its leadership in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, social and environmental impact economy. Someone Somewhere was born in 2016 and has grown to become a brand that impacts thousands of people in the Mexican Republic, allowing companies such as Delta Air Lines, Google, Uber and MIT to create innovative products and integrate craftsmanship and responsible materials into its value chain. The company maps the ecological footprint of all its processes, with the aim of reducing its environmental impact from product design to delivery to the end customer and offsets the remaining carbon emissions by investing in forest conservation projects in Latin America and generation of clean energies.
Hundreds of multinationals have signed commitments to be Carbon Neutral before 2030, and this seal positions Someone Somewhere as a great potential ally in the creation of any textile-based product. «Being the first Mexican production company to obtain this certification is a great achievement, but above all a great commitment to measure the impact of our actions and leave the world better than Belgium Email List we found it. With this milestone, we want to position ourselves as an excellent alternative for any company that seeks to change the way it manufactures its products, putting people and the planet first," comments Antonio Nuño, CEO of the company. Someone Somewhere receives Climate Neutral certification «Every day we weave enough recycled yarn to go around the world twice, and in the last year alone we have rescued more than 150 tons of textile waste. We are carrying out all the necessary actions to reduce our carbon footprint, thanks to the use of local and recycled materials, process optimization, waste minimization and care in energy consumption," says Enrique Rodríguez, Sustainable Development Engineer and co-founder by Someone Somewhere .
Climate Neutral certification is based on internationally recognized standards for carbon neutrality and measurement. All certified brands must measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions each year to maintain certification. Each brand must then invest in verified projects to offset its remaining emissions, directing resources to conservation, clean energy and ecosystem regeneration projects that eliminate and avoid carbon emissions. Together, Climate Neutral certified brands are making a significant impact on climate action, working to eliminate more than 1,000,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. Someone Somewhere acquires this commitment while continuing to grow its social impact, since so far in 2022 alone the company has generated more than 500,000 hours of work in vulnerable communities. In the words of Fátima Álvarez, co-founder of the company, «75% of the people who work with us are women, who invest 90% of their income in their families. With this we managed to impact hundreds of families and turned crafts into a vehicle of empowerment, while we paved a better path for new generations.
